Barry J

Barry J was born and raised on the southside of Chicago with three brothers, all three years apart in age, and both parents until his teenage years, at which time his parents separated and divorced. His comedy stems from real life events and experiences, and his humorous personality and outlook on life give him an authentic delivery of the best punchlines and humor most have ever heard.

He’s performed all over the Chicagoland and Illinois areas, and he’s graced the stage in New Orleans, New York, Nevada, and Detroit, Michigan, just to name a few. He also has no problem revealing how drugs and alcohol played a major role in his life until he surrendered and began to live a drug-free lifestyle.

He Held My Spot Comedy Productions was born in November 2022, when he, without notice, performed at the Alano Club in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with other known comedians.

Barry J. has vowed to chase the smiles, laughter, and hearts of those who probably need a good, hearty laugh. After all, this world has been through a lot, along with major life challenges unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. Laughter tends to change the perspective of how we could be living well and not even know it! Life doesn’t have to be this good!
